Niagara Falls

Welcome to Niagara Falls, the famous home of “Niagara Falls”. Although our focus is on the sights, attractions and views from and in Canada, there is another Niagara Falls. The one that is in the United States. The two cities are just yards apart, but with a an international border between. Over the years, and the history of the area, the Canadian side of the border spent more attention to the visual and visiting tourists, while the American side spent some attention to the tourists, but over the years more so on the industry that could take advantage of the water power.

Although in the last 20 or 30 years, Niagara Falls NY has suffered from lack of attention and problems created by the abundance of industry on or near he Falls. Think of the Love Canal issue. in the 70’s and the run-down condition of the old downtown, close to the Falls, and lack of facilities for tourists such as is available on the Canadian side.

Niagara Falls, Ontario is certainly filled with commercial activity, but overlaying this commercial activity is the Park Department that handles everything related to the Falls, the hundreds and hundreds of acres of parks and lawns along the Niagara River, the Gardens and the attractions from the Butterfly Conservatory to the Brock Monument and Pak at Queenston Heights, and oversees the famous boat tour to the base of the Falls and so much more.

Each year more than 10 million visitors arrive at Niagara Falls Canada, while about 2 million come to or through the U.S. Niagara Falls.

Many travelers to Niagara don’t realize that the Falls are just one of the major attractions here.
